Uses smooth volcanic basalt stones heated, and oiled, to smoothly but firmly work into tense and knotty muscles. The stones are an effective medium for retaining heat and, combined with the massaging action on the muscles, relaxes and releases muscular tension. The heat from the stones also expands blood vessels allowing increased blood flow which in turn brings fresh oxygen and nutrients and helps to remove toxins. Overly tense muscles can hinder the massage procedure, so if your muscles are extremely tight or stiff, the heated stones may provide the extra relaxation you need for the massage to be beneficial in releasing tension and easing sore muscles.
